1,500 million people do not have a fridge at home.

Commercial fridges need power to operate, but 1,000 million people do not have electricity at home. While there are some commercial fridges which do not need a power plug, they are very expensive and complex. The lack of refrigerators poses food risks and forces people, mainly women, to stay at home cooking for a long time.

Since current technology has not yet responded to this problem, more research is needed to find a feasible and sustainable solution that enables people to refrigerate their food. This would make an important contribution and help achieve many of the #SDGs

The primary objective of The Universal Fridge project is finding a simple and affordable method that allows people to refrigerate their food, all over the world.

Exists. We just have to find it.
